We offer three levels of service to the self-publishing author—the book publishing packages: Budget, Basic, and Basic Plus.

Budget

The Budget package is one of the most economical ways you can use to get your book into print. It is limited in its features, no more than 10 black and white illustrations or photographs in the text, but is of the same quality as the books offered at the more expensive levels.

If you are able to submit a spell-checked and copy-edited manuscript, with pre scanned graphics, and are planning a book in a standard size, for family histories, poetry, business reports, manuals, personal sales, teaching or seminar material — anything that does not require too many illustrations or commercial distribution through bookstores, this may be what you need.

Budget Package:

• Soft-cover, smooth, 90-lb. cover paper, 50-lb. text paper. Maximum of 300 pages.

• Book pages in sizes, 5" x 8", (standard soft-cover book size).

• Standard color cover design, (preformatted), with two graphics, (author provided). Standard page layout with black text and up to 10 black and white illustrations or photographs (author provided). All illustrations and photographs must be pre scanned.
• The finished book is mailed to you for approval. You can check the layout and positioning of any illustrations, proofread the text and make corrections (no rewrites or additions). Then return the book to us for final correction and printing.

• Three free books.

• Price: $195.

Basic

The Basic package is a practical level for many authors. More flexible than the Budget package, it is for the author who may want to choose a cover design and interior layout more in harmony with his aesthetic desire. The package also offers the author the opportunity to add color pictures to the pages of his book and a glossy cover. With the addition of an ISBN number and price code (author provided—see ISBN page), the author will be able to sell his book on Amazon.com and through bookstores.

The package allows up to 350 pages, with up to 15 color photographs or illustrations (Color or black and white) on the text pages, gloss (laminated) cover. It offers the author with experience in writing, copy editing and proof reading, or authors who have already arranged for the copy editing and proof reading of their writing by a competent editor, a quality product.

The Basic package is for a professional-grade book. It is recommended for authors who want book wholesalers to carry their book, and to sell their book through bookstores. It is also a good package for those who write for organizations, manuals, reports, etc., and for writers who wish to publish teaching or seminar materials. You can sell the books personally, advertise them on E-Bay, or your Internet web site, sell them through flea markets, direct mail, or simply give copies to family and friends.

Basic Package:

• Soft-cover or spiral-bound, gloss (laminated) cover for added thickness, strength, protection and superior look. 50-lb. text paper. Maximum of 350 pages.

• Book page sizes 5 x 8" (standard soft cover book size), 6" x 9", 8 x 10” (soft-cover or spiral-bound), and 8.5" x 11", (spiral-bound only).

• Custom color cover design, with up to five color images, (author provided), that follows your vision for the book; and a custom interior layout in black text with up to 15 photographs or illustrations, in color or black and white (author provided). The graphics may be either pre scanned, or copies of the photographs or illustrations mailed to us for scanning. If mailed, they should be no larger than 81/2" x 11".

• Our designers will design the cover or emulate the appearance of an existing book cover or interior page layout that you like. (You must send us copies of a few pages to show us what style you wish us to copy.)

• Proof pages of the typeset book are mailed to you for approval. You can check the layout and positioning of the cover copy and graphics, the text copy and any illustrations. You may also proofread the copy yourself and mark corrections on the proof pages (no rewrites or additions), then return the book to us for final correction and printing.

• Printing of the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) and price grid on back cover. (ISBN code grid supplied by author.)

• Five free books.

• Price: $295.

Basic Plus

The Basic Plus package is the most popular one for the new or relatively inexperienced author. It adds professional copy editing and proofreading to the elements of the Basic package. These editorial features are strongly recommended, especially for the author who may be in need of editorial help in the structure and readability of his work; is grammatically “rusty,” and in need of professional help for the proof reading of his copy.

If you choose this package, you get all the features of the Basic package plus:

Up to eight hours of copy editing (this is usually enough for most manuscripts that are submitted). Our experienced copy editor will mark (in pen) your hard copy for correction, concerning punctuation, grammar, word usage and sentence structure. You will then have the option to accept or reject her suggested corrections before sending the final manuscript copy to Aachanon. Additional copy editing, if necessary, is charged at the rate of $15 per hour.

Proofreading of the typeset copy.

The Basic Plus package is the right one for you if you desire a professional-grade book, with professional copy editing and proofreading services.

Basic Plus Package:

• All the features of the Basic Package plus:

• Copy Editing —Up to eight hours of editing by an experienced editor. A reading, and marking of your manuscript, in pen, to check punctuation, grammar, word usage and sentence structure. The marked up copy of your manuscript is returned to you for your consideration. You can make acceptable changes and then submit your edited copy for bookmaking.

• Proof Reading — an editorial check of the typeset text for typographical errors, spelling, hyphenation and layout problems. Two readings are made, the first comparing the text to the submitted copy, the second checking the pages for spelling, hyphenation and layout difficulties.

• Five free books.
